Christina Aguilera graced the world with her presence December 18, 1980 at Staton Island, New York. Her father was a military man and her mother a violinist/pianist of some note who traveled with the Youth Symphony Orchestra when they toured Europe.

Christina hit the music world hard with her debut album that hit platinum six times over. In addition she received a Grammy for Best New Artist and numerous nominations including a Golden Globe. Overall her debut year has been an outstanding success.

She has traveled the world with a stop in Japan, where she did a duet with Japanese pop star Keizo Nakanishi. She also traveled to Brasov, Romania. As well she sang "The Christmas Song" for President Clinton on TNT's 'Christmas at the White House' TV special, and was asked to sing the first song on his televised Millenium special from Washington. Due to prior commitments though, Christina had to decline this honor. She even sang a debut with Blues legend B.B. King.

All the while Christina had in mind a goal of producing her first album before she graduated from High School. She did so with her debut album which spawned two #1 singles. "Genie In A Bottle," which stayed atop the charts for five consecutive weeks and rocketed the album to #1 upon its release in August 1999. The follow-up single "What A Girl Wants" reached the coveted first Billboard Hot 100 #1 slot of 2000, further increasing sales for her album.

Christina began her career as a singer with her first performance at age six in a school talent shows. At age eight, she appeared on the nationally syndicated 'Star Search,' and at ten she sang the National Anthem for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins. She then, at twelve, joined the ensemble cast of 'The New Mickey Mouse Club,' appearing on the Orlando-based show along with future stars Britney Spears, J.C. and Justin of 'N Sync, and Keri Russell of 'Felicity.' After two years, the show ended and Christina got the opportunity to travel overseas to further hone her musical skills. Climaxing most recently with her debut album.
