Biography

Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor was born on February 27, 1932 in London, England. Her parents, Francis and Sara Taylor, were Americans living in England at the time and moved back to Southern California when war hit England. It is here, at the age of 10, that a Hollywood scout discovered the young Liz, and the rest is history.

Liz is best known for her many marriages, eight at last count, and her "violet eyes". She has had her share of hard times and good times, including a longtime addiction to sleeping pills and alcohol which lead her to meet her last husband Larry Fortenshky at the Betty Ford Clinic. Larry is known to describe her as "vulnerable" and maybe she is but she has survived over forty surgery's including brain surgery. Liz is said to have a love of life that may be the reason for her survival record.

Liz has received numerous awards. One for best actress in the move "Butterfield 8" and another for her role in "Whose Afraid of Virginia Woolf". She is best known for her roles in "Cat on a Hat Tin Roof", "Cleopatra", "National Velvet", and many more. She was also honored for her humanitarian efforts with her fight for Aides.

She established herself as an adult actor with her role in "National Velvet", but bore the distinction of not having the problems most child actors had in making it in the adult world of movies. She didn't have that ackward phase most child actors have. She smoothly went from child actor to adult actor and hasn't looked back since.

Not only a well-known actress, Liz has made her mark as a savvy businesswoman. She has her own lines of perfume and cosmetics, which in itself is a mark of excellence.

Liz has four children, Michael Wilding, Christopher Wilding, Liza Todd, and Maria Burton. She is also now a grandmother and a great-grandmother. None of this has slowed her done though. She still acts, mostly in guest spots on television, and is still dating - her latest companion is Rod Steiger. To her fans she is the most beautiful women in the world, most photographed, envied, and in the press she is the most maligned. She is adored by fans and friends all over the world.
