Born to acting parents in Paris, France on December 21, 1969, Julie Delpy was born to the stage. Julie's fame has been limited only by herself. She chooses to play only those roles that produce thought provoking works of arts, the type of film that hits it big in the festivals but not at the box office. Some critics claim that Julie was born to act.
Since the age of 14, Delpy has been acting. She was discovered by director Jean-Luc Godard and not two years later she was starring in her first film. It wasn't until her portrayal in Tavernier's "La Passion Béatrice", though, that Julie gained world wide recognition. Julie is known for her blonde, ethereal beauty and her considerable talent. She can be seen in such films as Agneiszka Holland's "Europa Europa", "Killing Zoe", Krzysztof Kieslowski's Trois Couleurs "Blanc", "L.A. Without a Map", "But I'm a Cheerleader" and others.
Recently, Delpy has delved in to the field of Director. She took a summer course at New York University. She was trained at New York's Actors Studio and is fluent in French, English and Italian. In addition she speaks some German and Spanish. Her father was Albert Delpy and her mother was Marie Pillet.
