Goldie Hawn's daughter Kate is fast making a name for herself in the same business as her mother. Kate Garry Hudson, daughter of Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson, is said to be the image of her mother and have the same flair as her mother for sexy comedies. Kate's talent, charm and charisma is all her own though, and is fast raising her to the level of stardom her mother holds.
Born April 19, 1979 in Los Angeles, Kate came into the world in posh surroundings and has remained there. Her mother and father divorced when Kate was a few months old. Kate calls her mother's boyfriend Kurt Russell "Pa" not her biological father Bill whom she has a strained relationship with. Kate has an older brother Oliver, two half brothers Wyatt and Zachary and a younger half sister Emily. She calls Kurt's son, Boston, her brother as well.
Coming from a family of show business people, Kate was encouraged by her mother and Kurt to follow another line, but Kate was determined to follow in her mothers footsteps. Kate's father, Bill Hudson, was also in the business as a singer and television performer. He and his brothers hosted two television shows and Kate's uncle Mark Hudson, has produced records for Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Boyzone, Cher, and Hanson. Though Kate's relationship with her father is strained, they still maintain ties.
Kate Hudson bears more than just a passing resemblance to her famous mother Goldie Hawn. She also shares her mom's Academy Award winning talent, which is always tempered by their quirky, offbeat playfulness and flair for sexy comedy. This flair has assisted her to stand out in her screen debut of "200 Cigarettes". Thanks to her success in this film filled with potential new stars, she landed a role in the film "Almost Famous". She has also had guest spots on the hit television series "Party of Five" and "EZ Street." Other films she's been in are: All About Adam, Gossip, Desert Blue, and Ricochet River. It is her role in "Almost Famous", though, that has brought her to the attention of producers and landed her a role in Mr. T and the Women.
Though Kate is just making a name for herself in the business outside of being Goldie Hawn's daughter, she is sure to be showing up more regularly on the big screen. Currently Kate shares the companionship of Black Crowes lead singer Chris Robinson and looks forward to her next role.
