Biography

Denis and Shane Cattrall became proud parents of Kim Cattrall on August 21, 1954 in Liverpool, England. When Kim was only three months old, her parents emigrated to Canada. Kim attended school in Canada until the age of 11 where she returned to her native country to attend the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. She then returned to Vancouver, Canada where she graduated High School at the age of 16. Upon graduating, she won a scholarship to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. It was during her final year at the academy that Kim won her film debut role in "Rosebud" (1975).

Upon graduating from the academy in New York, Kim returned first to Vancouver and then Toronto to work in the acting field. Eventually she won a contract with Universal in Los Angeles and returned to the United States. Even so, most of Kim's film work has been done in Canada.

Kim has been married three times. Her first marriage to Larry Davis was in 1975 whom she later divorced. She then met Andre J. Lyson a German Architect she met while in L.A. They were married in 1982 and divorced in 1989. Currently, Kim is married to Mark Levinson whom she tied the knot with in 1998.

Kim is known as a femme fatale and her roles as sexually aware women. She has had roles in such films as "Porky" (1981), "Police Academy" (1984), and "Honeymoon Academy" (1990). She is currently enjoying success in her role as Samantha, the sultry, self-confident PR executive in the HBO TV series "Sex and the City."
