It is rare that a Canadian artist receives the attention and renown that Andrew Kiss has. As a result of his exceptional wildlife art, Kiss has been invited to visit a number of countries around the world. He has been to Switzerland, Hong Kong, England, Austria, New Zealand and Germany. In addition he has made exhaustive trips all across North America. Across the globe, Andrew Kiss' art has become a much sought after commodity.

Born in Hungary in 1946, Kiss immigrated to Canada with his family when he was eleven years-old. His family first landed in their new home on the east coast but eventually made their way to British Colombia and the beautiful Cowichan Lake area on Vancouver Island. Kiss became a draftsman and in 1974 he was transferred to MacKenzie, a lumber town in the interior of B.C. His art, which had been his lifeline, began to take up much more of his free time at this time. His favorite past time was taking his camera and pursuing the wildlife abundant in the area. For it was the wildlife that spawned his inspiration and eventually led him to create internationally celebrated limited edition prints.

Kiss' art would lead him to take up residence in the William's Lake area where he could find more of the inspiration he required in its untouched wilderness. With his wife Lynn, Kiss moved to William's Lake in 1987. His art flourished in this virtually unspoiled rugged mountain wilderness and his art began to receive international critical praise. Kiss and his wife now live in Kamloops, B.C. and he has begun to use his international reputation to expand his wildlife repertoire to animals that are not native to Canada. He took his camera equipment with him on a safari into Kenya and Tanzania. He has also begun to use his talents to illustrate children's books which are quickly becoming best sellers. This winner of the Ducks Unlimited's artist of the year award for B.C. and Canada and the 1994 People's Choice Award treats his success as an honor.
