Biography

The actor best known for his eccentric, spaced-out characters is Christopher Lloyd. Lloyd began his career in off-Broadway plays and moved up to films and television. His most famous roles include "Taxi" as "Reverend Jim Ignatowski," the "Back to the Future" series as " "Doc Brown," and "The Addams Family" as "Fester Addams." His role as "Doc Emmett L. Brown" has made him an international star. Lloyd is noted though for his outrageous improvisation and the unique facial and body contortions he molds into his performances.

Lloyd was born in Stamford, Connecticut on October 22, 1938. Lloyd grew up in New Canaan and Westport. He is noted for the fact that he insists on keeping his private life private. He has been married twice Carol Vanek (1988 - 1991) and Jane Walker Wood (1991 - present). He currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife Jane where he moves from television roles and film roles with ease.

This well known supporting got the acting bug at the age of 14. Two years later he was apprenticing in summer stock and not long afterward he made his move to New York to study acting. At nineteen he started studying acting in New York, the most notable being with the Neighborhood Playhouse with Sanford Meisner. It wasn't long before Off-Broadway became his home turf and since then he hasn't looked back.
