Born Harry Patterson on July 27, 1929, Jack Higgins has become a world renowned author. Higgins' childhood in Belfast was filled with political strife. He moved to Leeds and from there held a succession of jobs including two years in the NCO as a Royal House Guard along the East German border during the cold war. It was during his term as a Circus worker that he attended London University and earned a degree in Sociology. Soon after he gaining his degree he became a professor.
Higgins was writing long before his book "The Eagle Has Landed" became a New York best seller. Since then there has been no looking back for Jack. His books have been best sellers and have been made into movies. Higgins is a professor and a world renowned author.
Jack Higgins has retired with his wife to one of the Channel Islands and is Multi-Millionaire who was granted an Honorary Doctorate from Leeds Metropolitan University and is a professor at Manchester.
