The winners
Leonardo Dicaprio duels his way to first place in our poll. He can be The Man in the Iron Mask, with his Titanic talent, and his fans would still love him. Dicaprio's performance proved he could be part of What's Eating Gilbert Grape and still get a date with a great looking girl in Romeo and Juliet.
John Travolta graduated from the Sweat Hogs years ago to act, sing, and dance his way into third place in our poll. Travolta became a disco icon when he gave us Saturday Night Fever. He showed us the model for sixties cool in the enduring movie Grease. Travolta showed us how to rise from the ashes in Staying Alive. We rode with him in Urban Cowboy. The ride shocked and delighted us when Travolta gave us Pulp Fiction. His nuclear career exploded with Broken Arrow. His body of work is so extensive you can bet he can Face Off with any star.
Tom Cruise captures third, proving there is no Mission: Impossible. While Cruise is not Top Gun in our poll, it is not Risky Business to bet on Cruise to hold his own in coming polls. He can write, produce and direct now. All we have to do is show him the money!
Scott Bakula makes a Quantum Leap to capture fourth spot. This result is a bit unexpected. Searching the net finds little information about Bakula. He has made some feature films like My Family, and appeared in The Color of Night. Quantum Leap, critically acclaimed by critics, but low in audience ratings, is his best known work. Perhaps his recent portrayal of private detective, Harry A'Amour, in the movie Lord of Illusions, will give him the recognition he deserves. The movie didn't last too long in the theatres, but the home video market may give Bakula a boost.
Harrison Ford doesn't even need the 'power of the force,' to capture number five. Ford is responsible for over 30 great movie experiences for his fans. Ford's production of great films got its start with American Graffiti, then rolled on with classics like Star Wars, Blade Runner, and Raiders of the Lost Ark. Ford is capable of a blockbuster hit at any time, so watch for him to score high on our poles.
